Highlights of Mahogany Springs
- One of the top lodges in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
- Track mountain gorillas in their natural habitat
- Exclusive lodge with only 8 spacious cottages
Mahogany Springs, which opened in 2011, has fast staked a claim to being one of Uganda’s finest lodges and one of the most popular in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Spacious rooms and attentive service designed to match the sublime experience of meeting mountain gorillas in the wild. Mahogany Springs is close to the Park Headquarters where trekkers gather each morning in high anticipation for their pre-trek briefing.
Accommodation at Mahogany Springs
There are just eight large guest cottages at Mahogany Springs. These are set in the lush gardens which lead down to the Munyanga River. They can be made up as twin, double or triple and have walk-in mosquito nets. Each room, with bathroom en suite, has a private balcony overlooking the valley in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Like the main building they are brick built with thatched roofs and hardwood floors, all very elegant but simple.
As well as gorilla treks, guests can participate in forest and waterfall walks, birding and tree planting as part of a reforestation programme. Mahogany Springs staff can also arrange a tour for you to meet the Batwa tribe. Activities must be pre-booked and are at an extra cost.
Mahogany Springs offers accommodation and hospitality at the highest level, both convenient for gorilla tracking at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and with lovely views over the Munyanga valley.
