But more often than not, what they really want us to recommend is restaurants with a stunning view! Why stare at the walls when you could look out over fields of vineyards and the towering mountains of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek?

Restaurant at Waterkloof – No 1 Restaurant in South Africa
This restaurant has a spectacular setting, a striking glass and concrete cube high up on the mountains, with glass walls overlooking sensational views of False Bay and the mountains. Inside it is natural light, white table clothes and simple fynbos flowers. Here Master Chef Gregory Czarnecki reigns supreme, consistently turning out contemporary French inspired food that looks great and tastes even better. His style is artful simplicity and he’s not afraid to put interesting, slightly risky ideas on the menu. But they work.
The menu is available as a tasting menu (R850 per person or R1050 with wine), or a dégustation with or without wine pairings (R1600 or R1900) 2019 prices

Delaire Graff Restaurant at Delaire Graff Wine Estate – Stellenbosch
Delaire Graff is undoubtedly one of the Winelands most luxurious experiences. In light of that we advice that you simply… indulge! The exquisite views over the Banhoek Valley and lush gardens are reason enough to visit. Take it one step further and dine at Delaire’s stylish restaurant where you’ll be served classic bistro chic-style food. Usually splashed with South African flavours. Chef Michael Degg’s menu is a creative expression of the season, artistically presented and balanced with flavour.
The second restaurant at Delaire Graff – Indochine – has one even more accolades. Indochine offers dishes with an Asian inspiration; each plate is vibrant with homegrown produce, and the meticulousness in creating a fresh yet complex marriage of flavours is impressive. The space is small and intimate, the service is meticulous and guests dining on the terrace will still experience the same fantastic views.
