Southern Explorer – Mvuu & Mumbo Island
$ 2,340 (Pps)
The Mvuu & Mumbo Island/Lake Malawi safari is an enchanting wildlife and beach holiday which is a great introduction to unspoiled Malawi. It could also be the basis for a longer stay (perhaps combining it with a fly-in safari to the Nyika Plateau).
You stay first at one of the best-loved safari camps in Malawi, Mvuu Wilderness Lodge in the Liwonde National Park. Next, you travel by road north to Cape MacClear in the southern part of Lake Malawi. From here you are transferred by boat to Mumbo Island Camp for three magical nights of Robinson Cruscoe living – but with a great deal more comfort and style!
We have given the tour at three different price points.
Paired Back combines 3 nights at Mvuu Camp with 3 nights at Makokola Retreat (Std room).
Our base itinerary combines 3 nights at Mvuu Lodge with 3 nights at either the rustic but idyllic Mumbo Island Camp or at a Lake Suite at Makokola Retreat (if you prefer a hotel ambience more).
Our Red Carpet option combines 3 nights at Mvuu Lodge with 3 nights at Pumulani Lodge
