Overview
This 3-night Gorilla Fly-In Safari is ideal for travellers short on time who want to experience one of the world’s most thrilling wildlife encounters β trekking to see Uganda’s mountain gorillas. From Entebbe you’ll fly directly into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to half of the world’s remaining gorillas.
You’ll stay at a carefully chosen lodge just inside the park gates for 2 nights, with sweeping views across the rainforest and the chance of gorillas or other primates wandering right through the garden. Trekking here is an unforgettable experience, with more than a 90% success rate of sightings. Once located, you’ll have a precious hour in the company of a gorilla family.
It’s perfect for those short on time, but we also have short 4 or 7 night options which allow you to see more of the country, and still combine with Kenya or Tanzania if you wish.
You can even add on aΒ third night to fully enjoy the region or opt for a second gorilla trek.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Gorilla tracking timings and conditions vary tremendously as the gorillas move continuously through the rain forest. It is good to be prepared and remember the weather can change with very little warning. The terrain is often steep and through areas where there are no marked paths. It can be strenuous: maybe just a couple of hours but it can also be for a full day of up to 8 hours of hiking in hot, high altitude conditions β please be prepared for this by being as fit as possible!
Good to know
- The price per person decreases with the number of people in the party. Our price below assumes 2 people travelling. However contact us for a slightly lower price if you are a party of 4 people, or 6 people.
- The price for Nov is the same as the April to May price. Whilst the price for Dec is the same as the peak season (July to Sept) price.

Coming face to face with mountain gorillas is a rare and exhilarating wildlife encounter that is hard to capture in words. Experienced guides and trackers will accompany your party on an early morning trek into the dense rain forest on the steep mountain slopes. Please note that gorilla tracking is strenuous, with treks ranging from 45 mins up to eight hours, at high altitudes in often hot conditions. We do recommend hiring a local porter to assist you on your trek. Although mountain gorillas are wild animals and sightings cannot be guaranteed, viewing success rates are over 95%.
Once you have located your gorilla family, spend an hour quietly observing them. The time passes so quickly; be sure to enjoy this experience fully and not just through your camera lens.
Transfer to the airstrip for your return flight Kihihi to Entebbe International airport.
We recommend staying at extra night if time allows. Contact us for a quote.
