Port Elizabeth & St Francis Bay
Port Elizabeth & St Francis are the gateway to the Eastern Cape and offer sandy beaches, cultural tours & great links golf courses.
Overview
Port Elizabeth (or PE as it is known in South Africa) & St Francis are the gateway to the Eastern Cape. They offer sandy beaches, cultural tours around the city & two links golf courses at St Francis and Humewood.
If you have time, we recommend a boat cruise for whales and dolphins sightings in season, or a round of golf at Humewood. A range of very pleasant boutique hotels are offered in Port Elizabeth.
In addition to PE are the attractive coastal resort towns of St Francis Bay and Jeffreys Bay. Both are only 45-60 minutes west of Port Elizabeth on the way to the Garden Route. Jeffrey’s Bay is famous for its majestic waves – regarded by surfers as some of the finest in the world. A more attractive, and quieter option is St Francis Bay. The village is of picturesque white-washed thatched cottages right on the beach. Here you may enjoy swimming, surfing, beach walks and perhaps a round of golf.
