The Swahili House in the heart of Stone Town on Zanzibar has been painstakingly renovated to make the most of its 125 year old charm. Twenty guest rooms have been decorated in traditional Swahili style and are located over four floors looking over a traditional Zanzibari internal courtyard and staircase. The Swahili House has 16 deluxe rooms, of which some have balconies and four Sultan suites, which are large spacious rooms with a balcony.
The Swahili House mixes the best of authentic style with modern conveniences such as air-conditioning, lift, restaurant and cocktail bar. It makes the most of its location by housing a rooftop terrace with stunning views. After a day of exploring Stone Town, come to the rooftop terrace and relax with a cool drink at the bar, taking in the gorgeous views of the Indian Ocean. The restaurant and sundeck with plunge pool are also upstairs on the rooftop terrace. The restaurant on the terrace serves a combination of local and international dishes, whilst the downstairs restaurant serves lunch.
Being in the centre of Stone Town’s bustling streets and alleys, Swahili House is offered on a B&B basis, leaving you free to choose whether to dine in the popular rooftop restaurant at Swahili House or to explore some of the other options in Stone Town.
