Overview

Mount Camdeboo Private Game Reserve rests at the foot of the Sneeuberg Mountain Range in South Africa’s dynamic Karoo region. This is a place of sweeping panoramas and undulating escarpments, extraordinary plant and animal diversity and a deeply rooted cultural heritage – from its early Bushmen dwellers to its Dutch settlers. The reserve is home to white rhino, cape buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, mountain zebra, a host of antelope and an abundance of birds.

If remote R&R is what you need, then the on-site spa and the constantly evolving menu of wholesome, locally inspired, refined cuisine, will do wonders for body and soul. Accommodation is in three beautifully restored, gracious gabled manors, each with spacious gardens and swimming pools, and one with an additional secluded cottage. For those looking for something under canvas, two luxurious and privately located en-suite safari tents provide sweeping views over the reserve.

Mount Camdeboo is child-friendly as they allow kids of any age to join their game drives. However the lodge is remote so we dont really recommend it for families with young children, but more for adventurous families who like to explore off the beaten track.

This traditional Cape Dutch-style manor has four luxuriously appointed rooms, ideally suited to families travelling with children. The 510 m² house features beautiful Oregon pine flooring and French doors that open to stunning landscaped gardens. Courtyard Manor is a gracious, double-gabled homestead that dates back to the late 1700s and features a charming deep verandah. This 443 m² home has been tastefully decorated and, given its size, is ideal for hosting private parties. Peppertree Cottage

Set in a secluded garden area, Peppertree Cottage is a romantic option for honeymooners or couples seeking privacy. This historic 179 m² property, which served as both a prison and a church before being converted into a suite, includes alluring amenities like a fireplace, a private hot tub and its own garden. Hillside Manor is an unwalled property set higher up on the Sneeuberg Mountain slopes than the other manors and offers sweeping views of the valley. This elegantly renovated 1900s manor is spacious at 295 m² and can be booked as a self-catering house or with a private chef, making it ideal for family or group bookings.
