Loft Rooms

Each loft room – with its sealed-off, thatched high ceiling that’s accentuated with skylights – narrates the hotel’s history and heritage. Staying here offers guests the opportunity to stay in a historic building that’s been tastefully restored with an interplay of old and new elements to offer the modern comforts of a luxurious 21st century establishment.

The spacious 25-sqm interior consists of a light-filled lounge that leads to a bedroom, decorated with eclectic South African artworks (you may even notice some pieces by renowned artist Kyle Rinquest), with an en-suite, shower-only bathroom. This is the ideal home base to explore Somerset West and the Heart of the Helderberg.

Classic Rooms

Effortlessly stylish rooms, overlooking the courtyard and facing the majestic Helderberg Mountain. King-size bed, en-suite bathroom, first-floor. The 22 airy Classic Rooms within the hotel’s lovingly-restored heritage building allow guests to imagine what it must have been like to live in the Helderberg region in the early 1700s, surrounded by some of South Africa’s oldest wine estates.

The 30-sqm Classic Rooms eloquently combine the region’s history with bespoke touchpoints, elegant finishings and classic furnishings guided by Clinton Savage Interiors and Architecture. Meanwhile, the en-suite bathrooms, complete with bath and shower, include award-winning TheraVine amenities to create a homely ambiance so guests may relax after a thrilling day exploring this part of Somerset West and beyond.

Premium Rooms

A relaxing space decorated in nudes and neutrals with splashes of colour, these rooms also each have a patio with a garden view. King-size bed, en-suite bathroom, ground floor. Each bedecked with a patio that either faces the luscious gardens or carefully-tended courtyard, the 19 ground-floor Premium Rooms are perfect to enjoy a morning cuppa, read a page-turner, or to indulge in a sundowner in the fresh air.

These rooms, ranging between 30–35 sqm, are a short walk along a pathway to the historic Cape Dutch Manor House, where the three restaurants – Stefan's, the Magnolia Social Dining Lounge, and Oak Terrace and Bistro – await with cocktails and fine-dining options alike.

The four interleading rooms are ideal for families travelling with children looking to explore the sub-route of the Stellenbosch winelands without compromising on world-class style and comfort, combined with unbeatable South African hospitality.

Luxury Rooms

These rooms deliver comfort and space, with a lounge seating area and sweeping views of the Helderberg Mountains. King-bed, en-suite bathroom, lounge area, ground or first-floor options. There are three kinds of Luxury Rooms to choose from – the ground floor room with an adjoining terrace; and a first-floor room that looks out onto either the central courtyard or the manicured garden and spa pool, both of which are coupled with panoramic views of the Helderberg Mountains in the background to remind you why you’re here in the first place.

The 35-sqm sumptuous Luxury Rooms showcase a lounge seating area where you can put up your feet in front of the Smart TV (kitted out with streaming services and a full programme bouquet), even though we know you’re probably going to want to explore the surrounding vineyards, unwind at our award-winning spa, or try your hand at the 18-hole, Gary Player-designed golf course instead. Once the day is done, the king-size bed with its 600 thread-count Sanders-Kauffmann linen waits on the other end of a relaxing bubble bath.

Loft Suite

Erinvale’s Loft Suite is tailored for the leisure – and the business – traveller, with its expansive layout and dining table that doubles up as a spacious working desk for the corporate traveller or the remote worker to make them feel right at home, coupled with carefully curated backdrops composed of classic art pieces.

This high-ceiling, 45-sqm room makes it a comfortable space for the free-flow of thoughts and ideas, with inspiration just outside the window in the form of the tranquil courtyard and naturescapes, as well as relaxed and fine dining options that are well suited for a corporate lunch or dinner.

Courtyard Suites

Elegance and luxury meet in a tranquil space that is simply breath-taking. These Suites leads out to their own patios and includes all modern conveniences. King-bed, en-suite bathroom, ground-floor. Elegance and luxury seamlessly come together in Erinvale’s two Courtyard Suites, where a lovely garden terrace in a tranquil corner of the hotel’s property make it the highlight of any stay, particularly if it is to celebrate a special occasion or a much-needed breakaway from the city in the Helderberg wine region.

Here, the mountain, vineyards and ocean are on your doorstep and can be explored, according to your travel style, with the help of our friendly and knowledgeable staff. Be sure to indulge in a treatment at the Lurra Spa with its indoor relaxation area and heated pool. And end off your day with a seven- or 10-course dinner and wine pairing from Executive Chef Stefan Bekker and his team.

Erinvale Suite

The aptly named Erinvale Suite – which is the hotel’s flagship offering – is the unsurpassable choice whether you’re exploring the region during an overnight stay, on a golfing getaway, business trip, or travelling for a long weekend away with your significant other or for a special celebration.

After admiring the picturesque landscapes that necklace the hotel from your private terrace, the centerpiece of the dining room and lounge in this 80-sqm suite is certainly the fireplace. It makes for a cosy, romance-filled evening spent indoors with a bottle of the region’s best, especially since our winemaker has keys to neighbouring Lourensford’s wine cellar. The king bed is draped with goose down duvets and everything you’d need for a comfortable night’s rest, so that you’re ready for the day ahead, no matter what kind of excitement it may bring.
