East Africa safari description
Your journey begins in the Arusha region, where coffee estates and Mount Meru’s slopes create a peaceful introduction to Tanzania. A night at Legendary Lodge offers space to unwind after your international arrival, with elegant cottages set in lush gardens and views across the surrounding countryside — a gentle transition before heading deep into the bush.
From Arusha, you fly into the legendary Serengeti, where the scale and drama of the landscape unfolds over several days. At Namiri Plains, located in a remote eastern section of the park, you explore one of the Serengeti’s premier big-cat regions. This area is particularly renowned for its cheetah and lion sightings, with open grasslands that allow for exceptional game viewing and a true sense of wilderness.
Flying north, Sayari Camp offers a different perspective on the Serengeti ecosystem. Overlooking sweeping savannahs and seasonal river crossings, this refined camp places you in prime wildlife territory, with excellent year-round game viewing and the chance to witness the Great Migration at certain times of year. The contrast between Namiri’s predator-rich plains and Sayari’s expansive northern landscapes adds depth and variety to your Serengeti experience.
The journey concludes in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most biologically rich forests. Here, you stay at Erebero Hills, an intimate and elegantly designed lodge perched high above the forest canopy. Cool mountain air, misty mornings, and rolling green hills create a striking shift in scenery — and a fitting setting for the safari’s most moving experience.
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi is both humbling and unforgettable. Accompanied by expert trackers, you hike through ancient forest to spend time observing a habituated gorilla family at close range — a deeply personal wildlife encounter that few experiences can rival.
This East Africa safari showcases the region at its most compelling, pairing extraordinary wildlife with sophisticated lodges and thoughtful pacing throughout.
