Cederberg & West Coast Explorer
4 Nights
₤ 450 (PPS)
Overview
This tour is ideal for nature-lovers who want to get away from the tourist hordes.
We offer this tour as both a self-drive (main price) and a private escorted tour (for 4 people - see Red carpet price). It can be offered as a private tour for 2 people but it is rather expensive. However, contact us for a quote if you wish.
This tour is easily combined with Cape Town in the south. The Cedarberg & West Coast Explorer tour gives you a flavour of the Cederberg mountains with its dramatic natural beauty, fascinating San (Bushmen) rock art as well as a taste of traditional West Coast hospitality. Afterward, you could extend the tour to include the Whale Coast, Winelands, or Sanbona Game Reserve if you wish.
You begin by meandering through the Cape Winelands to the picturesque town of Tulbagh. You continue via Ceres into the high Cedarberg mountains to spend the first night at Mount Ceder. Enjoy gentle walks, the rockpools of Maalgat and Stadsaal caves with their ancient rock art.
Continue to the picturesque old town of Clanwilliam for 2 nights. Then head to the West Coast visiting Bird Island at Lamberts Bay before continuing south on the coastal road to the picturesque fishing town of Paternoster. Here you can enjoy beach walks, the Columbine Nature reserve and enjoy a traditional West Coast seafood restaurant on the beach.
On the final day you continue your exploration as you visit the wild beauty of the West Coast National Park and the turquoise waters of Langebaan lagoon before returning to Cape Town in the late afternoon.
Tailor-Made options:
The self drive option includes meals and accommodation as specified above as well as car rental (Group L SUV vehicle with GPS). The private tour price includes vehicle, SA tour-registered guide, park fees and entrances. But lunches and the final dinner are for your own account.
You can add extra nights in the Winelands or if you would like to spend some time in Cape Town. Or you can combine it with our Spring Wild Flower tour.
