This relaxing honeymoon or romantic holiday focus on three areas: Cape Town for 4 nights, a Kruger safari in a private game lodge for 3 nights and then 4 nights relaxing on Bazaruto Island off the Mozambique coast, with its white sandy beaches, lush vegetation and an azure blue sea for swimming/snorkeling amongst the rich coral life.

There are now direct flights from your game lodge to Vilanculos via Kruger Airport on selected days. This means that there is no longer a need to overnight prior to the Vilanculos flight. If you need to travel on another day though, then you may need to add an extra night. However we include a panoramic tour of the Blyde River Canyon on this day. So it’s definitely not a wasted day!

Tailormade options for Cape Town, Kruger & Mozambique Honeymoon

This itinerary can be tailormade in a number of ways. In Cape Town, we have left it open for you to choose whether you want to take car rental for complete flexibility or whether to want to choose from a comprehensive array of tours and adventure activities.

In the Kruger, you are free to change the accommodation (though we chose this lodge especially because it combines excellent game-viewing with a honeymoon special offer.) Similarly you can change your Mozambique beach lodge for a number of alternatives as well.

Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort is ideal if you like more activities and buzz but you may prefer AndBeyond Benguerra Lodge which is smaller and more intimate, or the luxurious Azura Retreat (with a price tag to match).

Stay longer for less…

If you have time, you can stay longer at Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort and pay less per night. If you opt for Benguerra Lodge, there is also a lower price for an extra night.

Contact us for a tailor-made quote. (Please note: the honeymoon price automatically includes a honeymoon discount so no further offers are possible if you stay an extra night.)

Day 5

Fly to Kruger National Park, 3 nights Sabi Sands, Fully Inclusive

Today you have a transfer back to Cape Town Airport in time for your direct flight to Skukuza in the Kruger National Park. On arrival, you are met and transferred to Kirkmans Kamp for 3 nights on safari.

A safari is nearly always an important part of a holiday in Southern Africa – words cannot describe the thrill of tracking a leopard on the hunt or observing a breeding herd of elephants at a waterhole.

You enjoy game drives in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve in open vehicles with an experienced ranger and a local Shangaan tracker who work together to give you a deeper understanding of the wildlife and the natural cycles of the bush. Drives are in the early morning and late afternoon when game is most likely to be active. Tracking Africa’s big game, the evening safari departs after afternoon tea. After enjoying the bush sunset, the evening holds a sense of anticipation as the rare and elusive nocturnal species begin to hunt. The evening meal is often enjoyed in a ‘boma’ or even in the bush around an open fire, which many guests feel is a particularly evocative treat.

Kirkman’s Camp is named after Harry Kirkman one of South Africa ‘s first conservationists. The elegant Kirkman’s is on an elevated site overlooking the Sand River with glorious views of the bushveld. It is one of the best loved of all the Sabi Sands lodges. The lodge oozes with old colonial charm, reminiscent of a traditional 1920’s safari camp.

Here you connect onto your direct flight to Vilanculos on the Mozambique coast. From there you are transferred by boat across to Bazaruto Island to spend 4 nights at the Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort.

It is hard to imagine somewhere more romantic or ‘Robinson Crusoe’ than the Bazaruto islands 40km off the coast of Mozambique – empty white sandy beaches, lush vegetation and an azure blue sea for swimming among the rich coral life. This ‘land of smiles’, is synonymous with long sandy beaches, warm tropical water, a relaxed atmosphere and delicious Portuguese cuisine.
