Overview
Situated in a remote south eastern part of the Hwange National Park, Verney’s Camp is on a large open floodplain surrounded by mopane and teak forests in which the safari tents are nestled. It is a beautiful amphitheatre fringed by teak forest that opens onto an impressive waterhole that is a playground for the famous elephant herds of Hwange.
An oversized tented deck area forms the social hub of Verney’s Camp. Meet other safari goers at the bar, relax in the lounges or gather around the large fire pits to swap stories, fuelling the feeling of being on an authentic African safari in the bush. After a morning safari, counting the passing clouds while floating in the pool or resting on a sun bed is nothing short of sublime.
Verney's Camp is a nostalgic-style safari camp. The main camp area is flanked by two family tents and eight double tents, which are tucked into the teak forest on an elevated platform that provides sweeping views over the pan and waterholes. The tents are a masterful blend of modernity, comfort and exposure to untamed wildlife. The designer tents are inspired by the spirit of safaris of old, with the convenience of the modern day.
Get off the beaten track on a game drive at Verney's Camp in a vehicle designed for comfort and spectacular game viewing. View the variety of animal species with experienced guides who will share their knowledge, no two drives are ever the same. Highlights include buffalo and elephant and the predatory leopards, lions and pack of African wild dogs.

Luxury Double Tents
The elegant safari tents feature en-suite bedrooms with a romantic king-sized bed that can be separated into two twin beds. Feel close to nature with only a layer of canvas between you and the wilds, but enjoy the luxuries of electric lamps, fans, mini safes and running hot and cold water. The private patio area in front of the tent provides the perfect viewing spot from which to watch the African bush unfold.
Family Tents
The family tents at Verney's Camp have two seperate sleeping areas, each with its own oversized bed. Every eco-luxury tent has an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water. a double basin vanity, an indoor shower, flush toilets and locally sourced bath products. Sleeping under the stars in an eco-luxury tent is an authentic way in which to hear, see and smell the African wilds without forgoing conveniences such as a luxury bed and linen and a full bathroom.
