Overview
Set in the suburb of Melrose, The Peech Hotel is Johannesburg's eco-chic boutique hotel. The Peech was originally a private residence built in the 1950's. The property was a family home for over 40 years.
The hotel has sixteen bedrooms spread over a lush one-acre garden, a sophisticated bistro restaurant and a boardroom. All rooms are en-suite and include complimentary WiFi, air conditioning, flat screen TV, Raindance showers and separate baths. The garden suites are the hotel’s most spacious rooms and are located in a quiet part of the lush gardens. A hanging pod chair gives views over the private patio or garden. The hotel has a swimming pool in the one acre garden and loungers and hanging chairs for relaxing. The hotel is opposite the James Gray Park and adjacent to the Planet Fitness Wanderers gym. Gym access vouchers can be purchased at the hotel reception.
The hotel has a sustainability policy that includes eco-friendly solutions like solar water heating and grey water recycling. The nodes of Sandton and Melrose Arch are all within ten minutes of the hotel. Rosebank, the Rosebank Gautrain Station & Melrose Arch are five minutes. OR Tambo International airport is 45 minutes by car or 25 minutes by Gautrain & taxi.

Luxury Room
The Luxury Rooms (50m2) strike the ideal contrast between bold urban structure, paired with soft, bespoke interiors for ultimate comfort. Cleverly designed to include all that is relevant and functional for modern travellers, these rooms feature beautifully crafted finishes that are both conscious and simple. Stackable glass doors open onto private patios (ground floor) or terraces (first floor), allowing guests to soak up the relaxed outdoor surrounds, whilst enjoying their own privacy. Green living herringbone oak floorboards enhance the light-filled space. Modern and well-appointed bathrooms (with separate loos) with floor to ceiling tiles in monochromatic hues of natural grey, white and black. Generous sized showers (no bath) are a feature, whilst also ensuring water efficiency. Some ground floor rooms offer inter-leading options.
Classic Room
The Classic Rooms (45m2) are located within three free-standing units, each houses 4 separate guest rooms, including first floor and ground floor options. Rooms have either a private terrace or upstairs patio, with opening doors and windows offering guests access to abundant fresh air and natural light – essential when recovering from long-haul travel and adjusting to a new time zone. Our Classic Rooms have modern ensuite bathrooms including both shower and bath, with luxurious Kalahari amenities. Classic Rooms include flat screen TV’s with DSTV, Nespresso machines, kettle, hairdryer, phone charger and adaptors, desk area, sofa with coffee table and ottoman.
Peech Suite
The Peech Suites are our most spacious rooms (60m2), and feature extra-large bathrooms with separate loos, and an expansive open-plan living space with sofa and coffee table area. Both Suites have either a patio with private garden terrace, upstairs offers expansive views over the hotels pool area and landscaped gardens. Our Suites include an indoor hanging pod chair. The Peech Suites are ideal for guests seeking extra luxury and space (e.g. honeymooners), or for guests requiring extra space to accommodate young children in extra bed/cot.
Peech Villa
Our Luxury 2 Bedroom Villa (90m2) offers a master and second bedroom, with a centrally connecting lounge/TV area, including a slick refreshment station with a mini-bar and tea/coffee making facilities. In the same contemporary style as our Luxury Rooms, our Villa features purposefully designed and handcrafted furniture and high-end finishes that are both conscious and functional. Both bedrooms have modern ensuite bathrooms, each with separate toilet. The master bathroom features a free-standing bath, and the second bathroom has a large walk-in shower. Sliding glass doors open into a central outdoor area with a shaded pergola and water feature, an idyllic space for enjoying breakfast outside, or relaxed and private sundowners.
