Overview

Simbavati Migration Camp is a beacon of luxury and adventure. This mobile camp moves its prime location twice a year, perfectly placed near the Mara River during the wildebeest migration, and just north of Lake Ndutu in the South of the Serenegeti during the calving season.

The camp offers six en-suite Luxury Mobile Tents with a king-sized bed, which can be converted to twin beds, and views over the Serengeti plains. In- room facilities include a private viewing deck, coffee and tea-making facilities and an en-suite bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower.

The luxurious mobile tents are positioned to embrace the tranquillity and majesty of the wilderness while twice-daily game drives seek out the wildebeest and a myriad of other wildlife on safari. Guests can watch the birdlife and animals directly from the camp too, allowing for moments of pure awe and contemplation.

Several times a week, dinner in the camps is a more hearty, campfire style meal served under the stars in a ‘boma’, a circular enclosure originally made from branches. The cosy, lantern-lit ambiance recalls the early days of safari pioneers. This usually takes place every 2nd night. The gentle flicker of lanterns, candlelight and a welcoming open fire truly conjures up what is magical about a safari.

Activities

Tanzanian game drives take place in the early morning and late afternoon when the animals are naturally most active. The English-speaking guide and local tracker team pool their knowledge, experience, and fresh observations to optimize your wildlife sightings. The entire experience is informative and enthralling. The guides are often keen photographers and will be conscious and considerate if your mission is to capture sightings on camera.

Sunset drinks are an integral part of being on safari. Your guide chooses a suitable beautiful spot and you have time to climb out of the vehicle to stretch your legs and enjoy a drink or two.
