Segera Retreat is located on the Laikipia Plateau in it’s own 50,000 acre Conservancy. Great if you want to get away from the big crowds… It is also unique in that it has both arid and savannah landscapes. This eco-friendly luxury lodge has wonderful views of the snow-capped Mount Kenya and the Great Rift Valley. Central to the lodge is the beautifully renovated stables. Filled with carefully selected pieces of art from both known local and international African artists. You will also find a number of striking sculptures from the private collection of Segera’s owner in the botanical garden.
Six timber and thatch villas peep above a profusion of trees and plants, one of which is a Family villa with two rooms. From their raised wooden decks you can gaze out onto the surrounding savannah. If you want the perfect midday relaxation there are swingbeds in the shade below. In addition, the sumptuous Segera House and carefully positioned Villa Segera has similar spectacular views and even greater privacy and luxury. Each villa includes in its decor, original and individually selected paintings and other art from some of Africa’s most inspiring artists.
Segera Retreat activities
Activities including day and night game drives, guided walks are all facilitated through an experienced host and guide and can be tailor-made to your requirements and preferences. The lodge is located in a private game reserve of 50,000 acres and here you may see all the Big Five and also Wild Dog, Reticulated Giraffe and Grevy’s Zebra.
Guests are further spoiled for choice with a spa, gym and central pool. Meals and private dining are either served al fresco or in the various reception rooms. The cuisine includes Segera’s own free-range beef and organic vegetables from the local vegetable garden.
