Royal Zambezi Lodge
The Royal Zambezi Lodge is situated beneath a towering canopy of evergreen trees overlooking the Lower Zambezi river. Accommodation for 24 guests is provided in large luxury tented chalets, with walk through access to your en suite bathroom offering flush toilets and hot & cold showers. The wooden decks overlook the river, ideal for reading and bird-watching.
The pride of the camp is the Kigelia bar, a wooden deck anchored to the huge girth of a Kigelia Africana (Sausage Tree) on the river bank. Relax here with your binoculars or camera for great views of the river and wildlife. A plunge pool is situated in the grounds alongside the river for a quick cool off during those really hot days. There is a thatched dining room with an open dining area for evenings under the night sky with a blazing fire close by, as well as a small wildlife reference library. It is normal to see wild animals in and around camp. Elephant will often be seen in camp in search of the succulent pods from the Winterthorn (Acacia Albida) or Tamarind trees.
