Cocooned in utmost luxury, adrift in your own 4-bedroom oceanfront home within one of Africa’s most beautiful coastal reserves: the 36 000-ha De Hoop Nature Reserve. De Hoop offers 51km of pristine white beaches and dunes lapped by a warm Indian ocean. As well as limestone cliffs, rock pools, wetlands, coastal fynbos and the reserve is home to more than 260 species of birds.
Ocean House offers a bird’s eye view of the continent’s greatest whale nursery, as Southern Right whales migrate to the shallow coastal basins off the Overberg Coast for the calving and nursing season from mid-July to November.
Thanks to innovative eco house design, including the use of solar power and double glazed windows, Morukuru Ocean House is completely off the grid, relieving the tension between tourism and sustainability, thus offering guests five star luxury with limited damage to the environment.
Morukuru Ocean House can accommodate 8 adults & 4 children (all ages are welcome!). The 4 double suites all have their own en suite bathrooms and glass doors overlooking the ocean. The interior design is inspired by the surrounding fynbos dunes and is of the highest quality. Amazing views, a wide range of activities from guided marine walks and mountain-biking to sandboarding and of course 100% privacy.
A sparkling pool, your own private kitchen, open plan lounge areas, dining areas, garden with amazing views, romantic fireplaces are just a few facilities to mention.

Morukuru Ocean House - King/Twin bedroom
The 4 suites at Morukuru Ocean House with large glass doors overlooking the Indian Ocean Ocean offer king or twin beds and all bedrooms have their own en-suite bathroom with bath, separate shower and double vanity units.
Morukuru Ocean House - study / children's bedroom
Besides the 4 bedrooms en-suite Morukuru Ocean House also offers a study annex children's bedroom that can accommodate up to 4 children under 16. This room does not offer a bathroom however, therefor children accommodated here would have to use the bathroom in their parents bedroom. The study also offers a large flatscreen television and playstation, as well as a selection of boardgames and other items to keep children entertained.
