Overview
The exclusive Mahali Mzuri is Sir Richard Branson's Kenyan Safari Camp situated high up on the valley in the Motorogi Conservancy within the Maasai Mara ecosystem.
The Olare Motorogi Conservancy, one of four established conservancies which together cover a total area of 63,000 hectares in the Greater Masai Mara ecosystem, borders the northern edge of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The other three conservancies are Olare Orok, Mara North and Naboisho, and together all are helping to increase the protected area of the ecosystem by nearly 50%.
There are only 12 very stylish ensuite tents, each with their private deck to enjoy the superb views of the valley and rolling plains. If you are travelling with a family, two of the tents can accommodate two additional people.
Dining at Mahali Mzuri
From bush BBQs to champagne picnics to sundowners, there will be a wide selection of African and international menus to suit all tastes. Mahali Mzuri are also happy to cater for private meals and special occasions to celebrate those special moments. Locally-sourced produce, flavours and spices are used to deliver something truly memorable to your stay.
Activities
If you are still left wanting more after your day's game viewing, there are a variety of things to keep you busy at Mahali Mzuri. Trips to the local community can be organised to learn more about the local Maasai Tribe whose traditional pastoralist customs are still very much in practice. Take advantage of being in a private conservancy and go out out on a walking safari, which you cannot do in the Masai Mara National Reserve. For the more adventurous, if you would like to see the area from up above, the lodge can arrange a hot air balloon excursion - surely to be one of the highlights of your stay.
With night time game drives at Mahali Mzuri, you have the opportunity to see many of the nocturnal game like the aardvarks and honey badgers. If you're looking for something a little more relaxing, book a spa treatment with a trained therapist or just stargaze from the deck outside your tent.

Tented Suite
Each tent at Mahali Mzuri includes a spacious seating area, en suite bathroom and large deck to maximise those amazing views over the plains. All our tents cover approximately 106 square metres including the external decks.
10 of the 12 Tented Suites can be configured as twin or king beds, sleeping a maximum of two guests.
All rooms are equipped with a hairdryer, sunscreen, insect repellent, torches, extra blankets, ponchos, bathrobes, slippers, a complimentary mini-bar, snacks, tea and coffee making facilities and hot water bottles. Power sockets in Kenya use the British standard 3-pin arrangement so guests visiting from other parts of the world will need an adaptor which we will provide in your room. Please note that the current in Kenya is 240 volts.
Family Tented Suite
Each tent at Mahali Mzuri includes a spacious seating area, en suite bathroom and large deck to maximise those amazing views over the plains. All our tents cover approximately 106 square metres including the external decks.
2 of the 12 Tented Suites can be configured to sleep a family of four, with a king four poster master bedroom and a living room converted into a 2nd twin bedroom for two children beds.
