The Lux Belle Mare hotel is on the sweeping white sand bay at Belle Mare on the east coast of Mauritius. It overlooks a crystal clear lagoon, shimmering with turquoise water, and one of the finest beaches on the island.
Enjoy a breath-taking view of white beaches and the sparkling lagoon from your traditionally thatched villa, recently re-designed by British designer Kelly Hoppen. The resort is now a very modern take on traditional Mauritian hospitality. Stroll along winding pathways where the air is alive with the scent of herbs and fragrant flowers. Accommodation
174 spacious air-conditioned rooms and suites are furnished with polished woods as well as dashes of vibrant colour to reflect the attraction of Mauritius for a beach holiday. Luxurious Italian marble bathrooms offer oversized baths for two, walk-in shower and double vanity. Facilities in all the rooms include air-conditioning, ceiling fan, minibar, TV, tea/coffee facilities, butler service and terrace or balcony with ocean views.
The Junior Suites have a soft contemporary design with terraces overlooking the lush gardens and lagoon. Some have a pool view or beach view. Each suite has a small dressing room and a sitting area. Many are interconnecting suites to make a family suite. The 12 Luxury Villas at Lux Belle Mare feature stunning sea views in a secluded island setting. Each villa has a private heated pool and garden with refreshing outdoor shower.
Facilities
The centrepiece of the Lux Belle Mare is the enormous 2,000m² swimming pool with a separate area for children. Four restaurants, several bars, beauty and hair salon, interconnecting rooms for families complete the picture.
Lux Me Spa is the rather curious name of its spa which offers an integrated approach to wellbeing. Fitness, spa, nutrition, yoga and meditation are combined to tailor your spa experience. Facilities include a whirlpool, cold-plunge pool, sauna and hammam, hydrotherapy room (scrubs and wraps), massage rooms and vichy shower treatment room.
Complimentary watersports and activities include: windsurfing, water skiing, kayaking, snorkelling from the beach, pedal boats, glass bottom boat trips , aqua gym classes, floodlit tennis courts, table tennis and yoga.
Additional activities on offer at extra cost include: scuba diving, big game fishing, kite-surfing, swimming with the dolphins, mountain biking and golf at one of the 3 nearby golf courses.
Dining at Lux Belle Mare
The hotel offers an array of restaurants and bars including a new ice cream parlour for hand-crafted delights. Amari by Vineet is their contemporary indian restaurant, where the pinkish, earthy interiors evoke India’s fantastical colour palette. Duck Laundry, the Chinese gastronomic restaurant, is where you go for comforting family-style dishes and chef-driven tasting menus. In the lobby is Maison LUX*, the perfect setting for a macchiato and a pastry. The coral-pink Aperitivo Bar serves up healthy elixirs but also a Spritz. The Mixologist, located poolside, serves the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. MONDO, open from day to night has something for everyone. Royce Street, the gourmet street food Rolls Royce, embraces Southeast Asian cuisine.

Junior Suites
Located on the ground, first, and second floors, the beach hut-style Junior Suites are suffused with shades of white sand with coral and citrus colour accents: bleached ash wood panels, woven rope seating, and tables cast in reclaimed local sand. The cabana terrace area has a den day bed for lazy naps. The bedroom is a whitewashed cocoon, while the Pantry is their take on the traditional mini bar. The all-white bathroom is beachy and tropical.
Wellness Junior Suites
Designed for couples or solo travellers with a love for wellness, the Wellness Junior Suites is equipped with a curated selection of wellness amenities such as a yoga mat, exercise blocks, a complimentary coaching session at the gym and discounts at the spa. The beachy feel paired with the wellness-touchpoints is a must for travellers seeking balance.
