Located on the edge of South Luangwa National Park, Flatdogs Camp offers affordable, sustainable, and authentic safari accommodation to suit different budgets and travel styles, including family-friendly Chalet Rooms, traditional Safari Tents, the open-air Jackalberry Treehouse, and the private Crocodile Nest villa. You can also enjoy a relaxed dining experience with no set meal times, choosing from the camp’s restaurant menu and dining under thatch, in the courtyard, or in the garden overlooking the river.
As the first Fair Trade Tourism certified camp or lodge in Zambia, Flatdogs is committed to protecting the surrounding wilderness and supporting the local community. Its proximity to the village of Mfuwe allows guests to explore local conservation projects, schools and artisan workshops.
The camp provides year-round access to the park, with activities including game drives, walking safaris and night drives. The Luangwa Valley is home to an astonishing diversity of life, including around 100 species of mammals, more than 400 bird species and over 2000 types of plants. Added to this, there’s an amazing density of game, particularly along the riverine strip.
