Overview
Located close to Nungwi on the north coast of Zanzibar, Essque is a boutique hotel with 40 suites. With picturesque views over the lush tropical garden or the turquoise blue ocean, it makes the perfect romantic getaway or a relaxing retreat for some well earned R&R.
All 40 luxurious suites at Essque Zalu have a spacious master bedroom, lounge area and outside terrace or balcony. There is a choice of Sea Front, Ocean view or Garden view suites. The suites are decorated with locally-sourced artwork and each has a traditional pitched Makuti roof.
There are also 8 villas with either three or four bedrooms, each with their own private plunge pool, in room dining, private massage area, spacious living room and kitchen. There's a terrace or balcony with lovely garden or ocean views. These villas are perfect for family getaways.
Essque Zalu Zanzibar has a choice of two distinctive Zanzibar restaurants to suit all tastes, a scrumptious café, three well-stocked bars.
Activities at Essque Zalu Zanzibar
The Africology Spa is a wonderful haven for restoration and rejuvenation. It is the perfect complement to the peaceful and tranquil setting of Essque Zalu Zanzibar. It comprises single and couple treatment rooms, vichy showe, sauna and steam room. The treatments use only 100% natural ingredients tp capture the intelligence of nature in the restorative process.
There is also a dedicated art gallery space, an impressive infinity pool, kids club,TV room and an outdoor gym.
Water sports and excursions can be arranged. Watersport enthusiasts need not travel far as there is sea sport activities including scuba diving, jet-ski and parasailing just next door to Essque Zalu Zanzibar – at a supplement. All water sport activities are provided by East Africa Diving.

Ocean View Suite
Comprise of a spacious master bedroom, ensuite bathroom, lounge and outside terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean. The suites boast a maximum occupancy of 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.
This ensures that they are the ideal destination for both couples seeking a romantic getaway, and families who do not wish to compromise on luxury.

3 Bedroom Garden View, Ocean or Sunfront Villas
For a more spacious stay, our Villas each have their very own private pool, in room dining, a private massage area, spacious living room and kitchen . As expected, the villas also boast either a terrace or balcony, with exquisite garden views, upon which to laze. The maximum occupancy is 6 adults.
