Entabeni Hanglip Mountain Lodge lies in the lower part of Entabeni Safari Conservancy in the Waterberg north of Johannesburg. This beautiful 22,000ha malaria-free game reserve offers varied terrain and five eco-systems which support a wide range of game including the Big Five. It offers unspoilt African bushveld ranging from rocky outcrops, where the leopards watch from hidden crevices, to wide open savannah where the herds of zebra, wildebeest and impala congregate.
The upper escarpment offers majestic craggy rock formations and open grasslands with wooded valleys, a favourite hangout for elephants. This is separated from the lower plateau by 600m high cliffs. The lower part of the Entabeni reserve is sandveld and a series of wetlands and is the haunt of the lions and general plains game. The two parts of the reserve are connected via a very dramatic and exhilarating ravine road. This lower area is approx. 3 degrees warmer than the upper reaches of the reserve.

Entabeni Hanglip Mountain Lodge is probably our favourite in the Entabeni Safari Conservancy. The lodge’s breath-taking setting offers views stretching over the lake and plains to the Hanglip Mountain beyond. This secluded lodge is refreshingly alluring with its unique blend of luxury and true African wilderness with views stretching over the lake and plains to Hanglip Mountain and the Waterberg Range.
The main lodge area at Hanglip Lodge has a dining and sitting area. But much activity takes place outside with a garden leading out to an attractive swimming pool area and alfresco dining. For those who prefer some quiet time with a book, there is a reading room in the loft or the wine connoisseur could visit the wine cellar for wine tasting.
Activities
Activities at Entabeni Hanglip Mountain Lodge include twice-daily game drives in open game 4x4 vehicles, guided nature walks, horse riding, moonlit boma dinners, picnic lunches and bush sundowners. Additional activities include helicopter flips and hot air ballooning in the early morning light which is a particularly special activity.
Entabeni Hanglip welcomes families, with children over 6 years old being able to go on game drives. One child or two smaller children can share with parents.

Luxury Suites
All 10 spacious suites are luxuriously furnished in a sumptuous African 'Baroque' style, with large wooden doors leading out to your private sun decks with its breath-taking view across the wetlands and vast open plains. There's a sitting area with a romantic fireplace. The ensuite bathroom have bath and shower and other facilities include hair-dryer, phone, tea & coffee facilities, ceiling fan, electronic safe, mini-bar (stocked on request).
