Dulini Leadwood Lodge
Top of Class
₤ 992 (Pps)
- Very stylish, contemporary lodge
- Superb position overlooking the Sand River
- Can be taken exclusively for friends or a family party
- Each suite has its own lap pool and private terrace
- Located in the game-rich Sabi Sand private game reserve
Dulini Leadwood Lodge has a superb location looking down onto the boulders of the Sand River within the western part of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. This is one of the most stylish & romantic of the Kruger Park private lodges and we recommend it for honeymooners. However with only four suites Leadwood Lodge is perfect for a group of friends or a family party. (No children under 8 years are allowed unless you take the lodge on an exclusive use basis.)
The dining and sitting areas are elevated and have dramatic views over the confluence of the Sand and Mabrak Rivers. The clever use of steps and different levels creates intimate spaces for quiet game viewing or relaxing with a good book. Overall Dulini Leadwood Lodge is an exciting tactile blend of boldly expressed materials with crushed stone, raw cement, dark meranti wood, rough granite and glass. If this sounds too masculine, it’s not. The textures are softened by the surrounding bush and good use of soft furnishings so that the overall effect is serene and welcoming.
Leadwood Lodge only has 4 suites, which are all quite a distance apart. Each suite is huge with a soft contemporary décor in the bedroom and sitting area and has a fireplace. Behind the bedroom is a dressing area. To the side is a spacious bathroom with free-standing bath and large walk in shower. Large glass doors lead out to the expansive wooden deck and your own decent-sized lap pool and outdoor shower.
Dinner is offered in a variety of settings, either on the open deck under the magnificent jackalberry tree or in the boma around a roaring fire.
The Sabi Sands in the greater Kruger Park is renowned for its exceptional Big Five game viewing given its rich soils which produce excellent grazing and browsing habitats. This attracts the plains game which in turn attracts the predators, most notably lion and leopard. Morning and afternoon game drives are on offer at Leadwood Lodge along with interpretative bush walks (subject to seasonality, conditions and age) accompanied by professional rangers and trackers, usually after breakfast.
Dulini Leadwood Lodge on the map
Four exclusive suites grace the confluence of the Mabrak and Sand Rivers.
The spacious and luxurious suites are distanced from each other for solitude and serenity. The suites are designed with crushed stone, raw cement, rough granite and glass. Each air conditioned suite has a fireplace, sitting room, ensuite bathroom, outdoor shower and private plunge pool. Leadwood Lodge is the perfect choice for a family or group of friends sharing a safari together.

- Fabulous food. We had a 4 course taster menu – quite exceptional
- Max 6 guests per vehicle unless lodge taken exclusively when possible to use 4th suite and have 8 guests on vehicle
- On their land they have some areas of managed grassland. Might look odd to some people, but it does make it interesting to have the variety of habitat, with attendant species variety
- Immaculate, spacious accommodation
- Great guiding
