Les Dunes d’Ifaty is charming hotel with 22 rooms. It lies some 27 km north of TulΓ©ar, along the Mozambique Channel, just before the fishing village of Mangily. This charming lodge, nestled in a tropical park, allows guests to enjoy the pleasures of the lagoon, its barrier reef, and excursions to the Baobab forest and sand dunes.

The hotel is built of local materials, blending dry stone walls and precious wood parquet, frames, and furniture. The main building, with its roof soaring over ten meters and supported by a tree, houses the reception, lounges, main bar, restaurant, and its terrace. From here, a large staircase provides direct access to the beach.

The beach bar, located by the pool and overlooking the sea, is the perfect spot to enjoy a sunset while sipping a punch or homemade cocktail.

Rooms include 11 superior and 19 villas (the latter with a lounge area). The bungalows are well decorated and comfortable. Note also the sumptuous tree in the centre of the main entrance.

Activities in Ifaty

All sorts of activities are on offer. From quad biking, kite surfing, diving and fishing to walks in the mangroves of the Honko reserve and Reniala forest. Down on the beach you can also enjoy a lobster or grilled fish tasting in the local setting on the beach.

The hotel is situated close to the village and you can easily reach the well-known Spiny forest. It is definitely worth a visit to observe the magnificent Baobab trees. The turtle village is located close to the Spiny forest. In the village, you may spot mouse makis and more Baobab trees.

Another option is to go on a snorkeling excursion. The hotel can assist you in selecting the perfect boat to guarantee a successful snorkelling excursion. Diving is another possibility.

Last but not least, visiting the hotels’ own agricultural school projects with its many different disciplines is also a truly enriching experience.
