Overview
Simbavati Cederberg Ridge is a luxurious wilderness lodge offering delicious food, hospitality and adventure. The lodge overlooks the panorama of the Cederberg Mountains with its unique raw, rugged beauty. Yet this stylish ‘away-from-it-all’ retreat is within easy reach of Cape Town and the Winelands (2½ hours scenic drive) and only 5km from Clanwilliam.
Various excursions are on offer, both on and off the farm. From walking trails to mountain biking, from guided rock art trips to boating, and from farm tours to flower-viewing. At the lodge, you can relax around the pool, pamper yourself with a spa treatment or enjoy story-telling and star-gazing at the fire-pit in the evening.
It offers the authentic ambience of a modern African farmhouse with much use of wood, natural materials and earthy tones. But the striking steel windows bring a contemporary touch. The lodge terrace, dining room and deck look out over the indigenous gardens which melt into the fynbos, veld and mountains beyond. Enjoy relaxing around the main pool to soak up the sun, and move towards the heated pool to watch the sunset.
Accommodation
There are 11 spacious rooms and suites. Nine suites have stunning views over the Cederberg. Cozy window seats invite you to curl up with a good book or simply contemplate the glorious mountain views. In summer air-conditioning ensures a delicious night’s sleep. But in winter you can curl up with a glass of wine around a wood-burning stove. The luxurious bathrooms have terrazzo floors and underfloor heating. Enjoy the beautiful free-standing bath with its expansive view. A generous indoor shower leads to the outdoor shower. Outside is a charming stone terrace offering both sun and shade. Note that two of these suites can be combined into a two bedroom suite sharing a central sitting room. A fun new addition has been that of plunge pools to some of our Superior Suites to make them Superior Pool Suites. Each plunge pool is equipped with a Kolkol wood-burner so that it can be used as a hot tub in the cooler months! In the main lodge, there are also two classic rooms. Each with a full en suite bathroom with bath, shower and double vanity as well as outdoor seating area.

Rooms
Classic Courtyard Room
With a stunning modern design, the Classic Courtyard Room is located in the main Lodge building, offering the convenience of proximity to lodge facilities. The room is frail or wheelchair friendly with plenty of space to manoeuvre, a ledge seat in the shower and additional handles near the toilet. The room offers a lovely view of our courtyard with no mountain views.
Classic View Room
The Classic View room opens onto the main stoep with views over the garden and towards the Mountains. It offers great convenience due to the close proiximity to lodge facilities. It has an enclosed toilet.
Luxury Suite
These three luxurious, airy rooms (52sqm) have stunning views over the Cederberg. Each offers plenty of wood and natural textures. Cosy window seats invite you to relax with a good book, or simply contemplate the glorious mountain views.
Superior Suite
Three Superior suites (64sqm) enjoy the same décor and facilities as the luxury suites. Extra touches are a generous walk-through shower and built-in day beds on the deck. Each can accommodate one child under 12 years sharing with parents.
Superior Pool Suite
The three Superior Pool suites have that extra level of privacy. The Superior Pool suites have that extra level of privacy. They enjoy the same décor and facilities as the Superior suites. But with an extended terrace which incorporates a sleep-out platform (with queen bed) and a small plunge pool, heated with a wood-burner in winter.
