I love the modern look and feel of Simbavati Hilltop Lodge, a luxurious tented camp. You have stunning views down to the seasonal riverbed with many animals frequenting this part of the Timbavati.

Samara is a stunning property, suited for 2nd time travelers looking for something different, not the usual safari experience. The cheetah project focuses on Sibella, the resident cheetah, who has now successfully raised many cubs and is enjoying her Karoo surroundings. Her story is inspirational to say the least, a true ‘will to survive’ tale.

Loved this lodge! Definitely great option under management of the More group. They have very friendly and helpful staff and excellent guides!

Right on the ocean on edge of the old part of Stone Town so great location. Lovely airy public areas with good sized pool. Much more conventional than Jafferji House so it would appeal to broader cross section. The restaurant had windows overlooking the ocean so great views.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, well-run, good food, spacious rooms – Breezes runs like a well-oiled machine. Recommended for families and for people on a mid-range budget.

Baraza Resort’s style is very Arabic set in lush tropical gardens. It looks truly amazing at night all lit up – very magical and straight out of Arabian nights… This five star resort has a choice of either one bedroom villa and two bedroom family villas.

However what is particularly nice about Palms is that each villa has its own private ‘banda’ right on raised beach area behind the main beach, with steps directly down to the main beach. Here are two loungers, coffee table and a double day bed which is screened on three sides for privacy and also protection from the winds.

As I knew it would be, La Residence in the Cape Winelands is in a class of its own. The place is absolutely stunning even on a cold wettish, winter’s day – so I can just imagine how lovely it is in summer. The Singita Grumeti of the Cape Winelands…

I had a very strong sense of having emerged from a lost world, and couldn’t quite believe what we had just seen and done. Truly one of the most amazing things I have ever done.
