Rovos Rail Southern Cross Route Description
Departing from Pretoria, the journey winds through the Drakensberg escarpment, tracing the scenic Panorama Route with visits to Pilgrim’s Rest, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and Graskop. Enjoy game viewing in the Kruger National Park, before crossing into Mozambique for a guided tour of Maputo, its colourful capital filled with Portuguese charm and vibrant street life.
Continue to the mountainous Kingdom of eSwatini (Swaziland)for cultural exploration and a safari in Kapama Game Reserve, followed by a visit to an endangered species centre. Crossing into Zimbabwe, explore the monumental Great Zimbabwe Ruins, an awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Further north, visit Antelope Park, a vast savannah reserve dedicated to wildlife conservation, and Matobo National Park, home to ancient rock art and the resting place of Cecil John Rhodes. The adventure continues alongside Hwange National Park, a rich and diverse wildlife sanctuary, where you may spot wildlife from the train itself. Here you enjoy a game drive in the reserve. Β Later you arrive at the mighty Victoria Falls, where the journey continues with a walking tour of the Falls. You journey ends with a serene sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.

Royal Suite (Β±16 mΒ²): Half a carriage in size, with private lounge, Victorian bath, and separate shower.
