Moremi Game Reserve * Okavango Delta (water camp) * Savute Channel, Chobe * Victoria Falls
This 10-night Botswana safari with Victoria Falls brings together three of Botswana’s most rewarding wildlife regions before ending beside the mighty Victoria Falls.
Begin in the Moremi Game Reserve, where seasonal floodplains, woodlands and open grasslands support an exceptional variety of wildlife. Most activities here are land-based, with the possibility of exploring by boat as well. From Moremi, fly deeper into the Okavango Delta for a contrasting water-based safari experience. Glide quietly through reed-lined channels by mokoro, explore by motorboat and enjoy guided bush walks on the delta’s islands.
Your journey then continues to the game-rich Savute Channel in Chobe National Park. Known for its dramatic wildlife encounters and strong predator populations, Savute offers exciting game drives across a rugged landscape shaped by ancient waterways. The safari ends with two nights at Ilala Lodge in Victoria Falls. The hotel is within walking distance of the Falls, giving you the freedom to explore at your own pace. A sunset cruise on the Zambezi River is included, and we can add additional activities to suit your particular interests.
Although this itinerary offers excellent value by Botswana safari standards, the quality of the camps remains impressively high. Each property has been selected for its setting, service and authentic safari atmosphere.
Good to Know
We can change some of the camps used in your safari without much change in price. For example, if you are interested in birding or tiger-fishing, then you may prefer to swap out the Water-based lodge in the Delta for Nxamaseri Island Lodge in the delta’s panhandle. From here you can also enjoy a fascinating visit to the Tsodilo Hills with its collection of over 2,000 rock art paintings.
Or you may prefer to go to Leroo La Tau to see the Zebra migration, the second largest migration in Africa which happens at the start and end of the dry season. Or you can opt for Chobe Game Lodge (for a small discount of $300 pp) which is on the Chobe River front).
And – if you simply can’t choose – why not add on 1-2 nights in order to stay at four different safari regions? (Technically, you can stay at 4 different camps for 2 nights each but it may be too tiring so we recommend adding on a night or two…)
This Botswana Safari with Victoria Falls itinerary is an inspirational starting point and can be adapted to suit your interests, preferred travel season and pace.
For keen birders or anglers, the water-based delta stay can be replaced with Nxamaseri Island Lodge in the Okavango Panhandle. This also creates the opportunity to visit the Tsodilo Hills, home to thousands of ancient rock paintings. If you opt for this we recommend extending the safari by one night if possible.
If you are interested in Botswana’s zebra migration – the second largest migration in Africa – you may prefer to include Leroo La Tau, particularly around the beginning or end of the dry season.
Savute Safari Lodge can also be exchanged for Chobe Game Lodge on the Chobe Riverfront. Though we find that part of the park a little too busy….
Alternatively, add one or two nights to experience four distinct safari regions without making the journey feel rushed.

On arrival in Maun, you are met and transferred by light aircraft to the Moremi Game Reserve for 3 nights.
In the Moremi Game Reserve seasonal floodplains, woodlands and open grasslands support an exceptional variety of wildlife. Most activities here are land-based, with the possibility of exploring by boat as well.
Camp Moremi is shaded by giant ebony trees and overlooks the Xakanaxa Lagoon, in the heart of what is reputedly Africa’s most beautiful reserve – the Moremi Wildlife Reserve. The camp offers a diversity of habitat and animal life, which is unrivalled in Botswana. Here where the Okavango meets up with the vast Kalahari desert, ancient Mopane forests, open grassland and seasonal floodplains have formed. Trained resident naturalist guides will share their knowledge and deep love of the wilderness with you on game drives where sightings of wild dog, cheetah, leopard, lion, elephants and buffalo are possible.
This morning, after a final game activity, you are transferred by light charter flight into the Okavango Delta. The delta is Africa’s largest and most beautiful oasis – an isolated, lush green paradise with some of the richest wildlife in the world. It is a maze of waterways, lagoons, vast grassy plains and palm-fringed and wooded islands and is home to a wide array of animals and birds.
At Camp Okavango, game viewing is predominantly by motorboat, as well as game walks with an experienced and armed guide on the delta’s islands. The evocative mokoro trips are in shallower waters, water levels permitting.
Camp Okavango is situated on a remote island in the permanent waters of the Okavango Delta ensuring a year-round water experience with boating, canoeing, guided bush walks and of course, excellent birding.
OR
Camp Xugana is part of the Xugana private concession – widely accepted as being the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta with the most fabulous sunsets. Camp Xugana, situated on a wooded island abutting the lagoon, takes full advantage of this magnificent site with an open boma and an alfresco dining area facing an expanse of pristine water.
This morning, after a final game activity, you are transferred by light charter flight to Chobe National Park for 3 nights.
The itinerary price assumes Savute Safari Lodge.
Savute Channel, a rugged semi-arid wilderness region in the south-western part of Chobe National Park, famous for its excellent year-round game viewing. The channel began as an offshoot of the Linyanti River and its mysterious wet and dry cycles mould this region of Chobe. What was once a hippo-filled river is now open, particularly nutritious, grassland sustaining a marvellous array of animal and bird life. The summer rains (November to March) bring a feast for the predators, as thousands of migrating zebra and wildebeest congregate on the marsh whilst undertaking the journey in search of life’s basic needs – water and food.
Note: For a small discount – you can end with Chobe Game Lodge on the Chobe Riverfront instead.
After a final early morning safari activity followed by brunch, you either fly or drive to Kasane and then continue by road across the border and onto Victoria Falls for a 2-night stay.
Ilala lodge is within walking distance of the Victoria Falls and various other adventure attractions
On the second night you enjoy a luxurious sunset cruise on the Zambezi river.
