Overview

The eco-friendly Porini Lion Camp is located in the exclusive 33,000 acre Olare Motorogi Conservancy north of the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya which is set aside for wildlife conservation. Only five camps have traversing rights over this conservancy, ensuring a really exclusive safari experience in the Masai Mara; a rare find! Porini Lion Camp is located in a prime wildlife area and game viewing starts right from the camp itself, ensuring a genuine wilderness experience deep in the bush.

There are 10 luxury guest tents at Porini Lion Camp. It makes the most of its beautiful position along the banks of the Ntiakatiak River, a seasonal river with some permanent hippo pools near the camp. The tents are very spacious and have private verandas along the length of the tent, providing a secluded and private space to relax and enjoy the beauty of this stunning conservancy. Each tent has solar-powered lighting, en suite bathroom with flush toilet and hot safari showers.

Activities at Porini Lion Camp include morning, afternoon and night game drives in the conservancy and in the Mara reserve. All day game drives with a picnic lunch are also on offer - especially popular for guests who wish to head deep into the Masai Mara National Reserve to witness one of the famous river crossings. Bush walks with a Masai tracker are another highlight; being on foot allows a completely different perspective on the fauna and flora, and can make a welcome break if you've spent quite a few days on vehicle-based game activities. There’s also an opportunity to enjoy a hot air balloon safari at extra cost.

A direct transfer from Ol Kiombo airstrip to Porini Lion Camp takes around 45 minutes, but the transfer is often turned into a game viewing drive.
