Naries Namakwa Retreat is a beautiful and romantic hideaway only 27km from Springbok in the heart of Namaqualand in the Northern Cape. It is known for its warm hospitality, personal attention, excellent food and breathtaking sundowners enjoyed at their viewpoint with panoramic views over the surrounding ‘veld’ (South African term for open countryside). Naries makes for a great centre to explore the region especially in the flower season, however keen photographers will enjoy the stark beauty of Namaqualand throughout the year.
Accommodation
Naries Namakwa Retreat has accommodation to cater for all needs. The historic Cape Dutch manor house offers comfortable en suite accommodation decorated in Cape country style. A little distance away, three luxuriously appointed Namaqua Mountain suites have stunning views of the surrounding African landscape. Alternatively self-catering farm cottages offer a value for money option.
A wide variety of wild flowers can be seen during the Spring wild flower displays. Apart from this, the lodge also hosts a range of succulents that can be enjoyed year round. Other activities include walking trails and scenic drives to the Atlantic coast. Naries Namakwa Retreat can be your base for a range of excursions including visits to the Richtersveld, a 4x4 shipwreck tour along the Atlantic Ocean and flower tours in season (both guided and self-drive).
