Wilderness King’s Pool Camp

Wilderness King's Pool Camp is located in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve. A vast private concession in the northern part of Botswana. On the western boundary of Chobe National Park. Named for Scandinavian royalty, this luxurious and stylish camp overlooks the Linyanti River and the oxbow-shaped Kings Pool Lagoon.

The Linyanti Wildlife Reserve has abundant wildlife in a wide variety of species. But is most noted for its very large elephant population. Which can reach enormous densities during the dry winter months. Spectacular wildlife viewing is available on day and night game drives and walks. Depending on water levels, seasonal boat cruises along the Linyanti River are also on offer.

Wilderness King's Pool Camp has 8 well-appointed tents of canvas and thatch. Including one two bedroomed suite, each with own en-suite facilities, sharing a private plunge pool and outdoor sunken lounge. The rooms have a large bedroom area and lounge. Folding doors lead to a veranda with a private plunge pool and a separate thatched sala to soak up the views. Spacious en-suite bathrooms with double showers and hand-basins. As well as an outdoor shower.

The main area has a lounge, dining room and pub. These areas are on expansive raised decks to enjoy the view and possible animal sightings. There is also a communal pool and an open-air 'kgotla' for dining under the Botswana stars. Raised walkways allow the elephants and other animals to wander freely through the King's Pool Camp to and from the water.

Activities include day and night game drives in open 4x4 Land Rovers. Walking safaris are also available. And 3 different hides are available for a close up game viewing. An original underground hide, with the water at eye-level lets you see massive elephant feet and trunks almost within touching distance while safely inside. Elegant boat cruises along the Linyanti River (water levels allowing) on colonial-style barge, the Queen Sylvia.
