Isalo Rock Lodge

Isalo Rock Lodge is a modern 60 room retreat, positioned high in the Sandstone Mountains, overlooking the Isalo National Park in south west Madagascar. Isalo is home to many species of flora and fauna, including the Giant Chameleon and the renowned Lemurs. The Lodge has a restaurant, lounge, and pool bar. The design of the restaurant and public areas allows guests to visibly enjoy the beauty of the region through the massive glass panels overlooking the sandstone cliffs and forest below.

Venturing out, there are treks directly from the hotel, tracking between the mountains, past magnificent endemic Pachypodium plants, and a natural pool. It is also possible to take the lodge mountain bikes into the surrounding park.

All the rooms at Isalo Rock Lodge are tastefully decorated with comfortable furniture in warm colours. All Rooms come with twin or king-size beds, chair, table, wardrobe, air conditioning, en-suite, safe, and mosquito net. Superior Rooms are in the first line towards the mountains and have 24-hour solar electricity. Family Rooms are also available for those traveling with young children.

Visitors to the park can explore its wilderness by 4x4s or on horseback on a guided tour. The Canyon des Singes (‘Canyon of Monkeys’) is a particularly interesting day walk, with a good chance of seeing sifakas (a common lemur) leaping through the trees.
