On the shores of Lake Kariba, within the Matusadona National Park in Zimbabwe, rests the magical oasis of Fothergill. A place where African traditions and fascinating history combine to form a safari experience like no other. Two unique and beautiful camps surround alfresco living and pool areas as well as dining and bar tents provide the perfect spaces for relaxation.
In total, there are 10 spacious tented suites: the Lake Suites, comprising five luxury suites and two family suites, plus three additional suites at Little Fothergill that can either be booked exclusively or combined as part of the Lake Suites. All suites are bright, breezy and very spacious. Each is decorated uniquely, but always in natural hues and materials that complement the scenery. The subtle yet stylish décor includes touches of bright African colour, embodying the land’s rich cultural heritage.
Indulge in culinary delights at Fothergill. Start your day with a full English breakfast as the morning sun casts its golden glow over the water. Lake Suites
Five bright and breezy double or twin suites, in either the mopane forest or on the lakeshore, all with private outdoor decks. All suites are all on raised a dais and are some of the largest in the area. Each bedroom suite has an en-suite bathroom with shower and beautiful, locally-made toiletries. Some suites also have an outdoor shower or bathtub, perfect for soaking up the melodic sounds of the bush. Inside each suite you’ll find a writing desk, lounge area, generous mini bar, and a tea and coffee station whilst outside, there is a seating area with private plunge pool and a shady day bed.
Lake Family Suites
There are two family suites that are equally spacious at approximately 1,700 square feet of decking and which, in addition to all of the standard suite inclusions, have a second bedroom with matching en-suite facilities and a spacious central reception area with comfy seats, a mini bar and tea and coffee station.
Little Fothergill
Little Fothergill comprises of three exclusive canvas suites, available for individual booking or as an add-on to the Lake suites, ensuring unparalleled privacy and comfort. Each suite features four-poster beds amidst stunning nature-inspired décor, ensuite bathrooms with some offering outdoor baths and showers and secluded decks with breathtaking views of Lake Kariba. Access the airy central lounge, dining area, bar, and alfresco deck with swimming pool via raised walkways. Enjoy a dedicated safari vehicle and guide, along with a personal chef for the ultimate experience.
