Overview
Buffelsdrift Game Lodge has luxury tented accommodation, with mountains as backdrop and a waterhole at your doorstep. It's the closest you'll get to the wild of the Klein Karoo. You can choose to use this as a rural place to stay, opting for a DBB meal basis or you can take advantage of the many activities on offer both within and around the game reserve and take a more Fully Inclusive option. With 34 free-standing luxury tents, simply and stylishly decorated, they not only offer you a true bushveld experience, but all the creature comforts of luxury accommodation.
Location & activities
Just off the famous Route 62, Buffelsdrift Game Lodge is well-situated to offers you an escape from humdrum life. Experience an array of wildlife including elephants, rhino, Cape Buffalo, giraffe, hippo and over 200 bird species. You can choose between game drives, elephant interaction, meerkat safaris and nature walks.
Just a stone's throw away are the many attractions of the Little Karoo such as the culture-rich town of Oudtshoorn, the Swartberg Mountain Nature Reserve and Swartberg pass, the Cango Caves and the epic scenic drive into the Gamaskloof Valley ('Die Hell').
Family safaris at Buffelsdrift
Buffelsdrift is very family-friendly. Up to two children under 13 can share with their parents; they have inter-leading rooms and also a two bedroom family suite. Any age is allowed on the game drives, though there are some age restrictions for the Meerkat activity. Kids also enjoy the Elephant inter-action activity where they walk with the elephants and can brush them down. Plus it is well-located to enjoy the other family-friendly activities in the Little Karoo. Note that this is not a "Big Game" reserve.

Luxury Waterfront
Our Waterfront Tents are perfect for those who enjoy the closeness of the water's edge. The sundeck on each waterfront tent overlaps the water's edge and is the ideal spot to relax during your stay with us. Each tent is air-conditioned, has an en-suite bathroom with amenities, and breathtaking views.

The luxury tents are set only a few meters away from the waterhole and provide an elevated view of the surroundings. They also have great views over the whole lodge area and is surrounded by true Karoo fynbos. Each tent is air-conditioned, has an en-suite bathroom with amenities, and breathtaking views.
Luxury Family
The Family units have a spacious main room and a children's room with a shared en-suite bathroom separating the rooms. These units can accommodate a family of up to 5 people. Each tent is air-conditioned, has an en-suite bathroom with amenities, and breathtaking views.
