Grumeti Serengeti lies amongst towering evergreen trees right at the edge of the lily-strewn river, with its resident grunting hippo. This is a wild and remote location in the thick of the resident game. It offers a wonderful vantage point overlooking one of the most famous fording points of the wildebeest migration.
The sweep of ten spacious tented suites under thatch hides the blaze of colour which is seen in the interiors with their quirky touches and surprises. All are vibrantly furnished with Kente cloth. The en suite bathrooms have al fresco showers open to both sun and stars, as well as a private deck. There's a plunge pool and a spacious deck for game-viewing and later, for evening cocktails while the calls of the hippo offer nightly entertainment.
The open fronted dining area, lounge and bar feature unusual handcrafted antiques and artefacts. Traditional fires and outdoor ovens produce mouth-watering aromas to stimulate your appetite. Enjoy dining under the stars which is sometimes in the particularly dramatic 'boma', an outside enclosure which protects people from the unknown predators...
