Greenpop Tree Planting
One booking. One tree.
A small action with lasting roots.

For every booking made with Cedarberg Africa, we plant a tree through Greenpop.
It is a simple idea, but one we love: each journey helps put something back into the ground. Your tree may form part of a reforestation project, an urban greening initiative, a food garden or a biodiversity restoration programme.
Why Trees Matter
Trees are not a cure-all for the environmental impact of travel. But they do matter.
They help restore degraded landscapes, support biodiversity, improve soil health, provide shade, absorb carbon and create greener spaces for communities. In the right place, with the right species and the right long-term care, tree planting can be a powerful part of environmental restoration.
That is why we work with Greenpop.

Who is Greenpop?
The Greenpop Foundation is a South African environmental organisation that plants trees, restores ecosystems and works with communities across sub-Saharan Africa. Their projects include reforestation, fynbos restoration, urban greening, food gardens and environmental education.
What began as an urban greening project in the city centres has now expanded into fynbos planting and widespread reforestation.
We particularly value Greenpop’s practical and positive approach. Their message is not about guilt. It is about getting active, getting involved and helping people become environmental stewards in their own communities.
Since its founding in 2010, Greenpop has planted hundreds of thousands of trees and involved over 350 000 people in greening projects across the continent.
How Cedarberg Africa is involved
How we got our own hands dirty!
Through our pledge partnership, Cedarberg Africa plants a tree for every booking we make. Each tree is planted through one of their approved projects, and our clients can receive a certificate showing where their tree has been planted (on request).
We also assisting with fund-raising by partnering with suppliers to provide safari prizes for fund-raising.
It is a small part of a much bigger picture, but it is a tangible way for each journey to leave something positive behind. We see it as one thread in our wider approach to responsible travel: choosing thoughtful partners, supporting conservation, encouraging local benefit, and taking practical steps wherever we can.
