Overview
The name De Zeekoe, is derived for the Dutch name for the farm, Zeekoegat. Which literally means “hippo waterhole”. Over a century ago, these odd-looking, water-loving creatures used to frequently visit the riverbed that still runs through the farm to this very day.
De Zeekoe Lodge is situated only 7 km outside Oudtshoorn, in the Garden Route’s Klein Karoo. Surrounded by the famous Swartberg and Outeniqua mountains, is undoubtedly one of the world’s 17 “hot spots” with 3 overlapping flower zones. Surrounded by a variety of Oudtshoorn attractions like ostrich farms, longest wine route in the world (R62), Cango caves, Wildlife ranch, waterfalls and museums, makes this the ideal destination for a visit or a stay over in the Klein Karoo.

Rooms
Superior Mountain View
These rooms are spacious with views of the Outeniqua Mountains. The room has a shower and bath as well as access to outside showers. Relax with an inside fireplace. Can sleep an extra child.
Standard Twin Room
These rooms are situated around the mainhouse and are smaller than the other category rooms. Look out over the beautiful garden. Twin beds with a shower only.
Superior Garden View
These rooms are spacious with views of the luscious garden. This room is wheelchair friendly. The room has a shower and bath as well as access to outside showers. Relax with an inside fireplace. Can sleep an extra child.
Superior Honeymoon Suite
De Zeekoe's most luxurious units with an inside fireplace and an amazing view of the mountains. Bathrooms have both a shower and bath and room has access to an outside shower. Perfect for honeymooners for a bit of romance!
Private Cottage
The private cottages are situated around a three minute drive from the main house via a gravel road. The entire cottage is built from rock. The cottage has its own fireplace and pool and is surrounded by stunning views.
Luxury Room
These luxurious rooms are situated at the main house with either garden or mountain views. Bathrooms have both showers and baths.
Deluxe Room
Deluxe Rooms capture the essence of contemporary African luxurious living within its modern aesthetics imbued in both décor and layout. The Deluxe rooms are situated at the main house and have either a mountain and/or pool views. Spacious room with indoor shower only.
