Auberge Burgundy is a charming Provençal style boutique hotel & spa with 19 rooms and suites, centrally located on the seafront promenade of Hermanus, overlooking the picturesque Old Harbour and spectacular Walker Bay, famous for its natural beauty and whale watching.
Auberge Burgundy offers comfortable accommodation and friendly service, surrounded by restaurants, markets, boutiques, galleries, and quaint shopping malls. It has the salty sea air of one of the world’s most magnificent eco-destinations with the cool blue of Walker Bay just moments away.
Originally settled as a sleepy fishing village, the traveller’s love affair with Hermanus began well over two centuries ago, when the Harley Street doctors of London prescribed its crisp “champagne air” as an excellent remedy for consumption. By the 1920’s, its reputation as the “Riviera of the South” had been well established and hotels began popping up to accommodate the yearly influx of European tourists.
Accommodation at Auberge Burgundy
The Standard Rooms walk out onto the garden or have balconies with garden views. The Standard Rooms all have Âľ twin beds and can be made up as a king on request. These rooms have a shower only and are accessed by stairs. The Pool rooms are situated around - you guessed it - the pool deck. The two Suites are situated in the main house with Âľ twin beds, en-suite bathrooms with showers, full lounge, balconies, and lovely views over Walker Bay. They are accessed by stairs only. The rooms are very spacious. The Poolside suite is situated at the pool area and on Harbour Road, with the bistro Frances below. It is the only self-catering unit and consists of Âľ twin beds, en-suite bathroom with shower and bath, separate lounge with a wood-burning fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, and stunning sea view from living room balcony. The two penthouse suites are situated on the second story of the main house and consists of one bedroom (king-size bed) opening onto a balcony with an en-suite bathroom with a shower and a separate living room with wood-burning fireplace. It has sea views from living room and bedroom and is interleading with Penthouse Suite 2.

The Fresh Wellness Spa Group welcomes you to one of our three beautiful spas at multiple award-winning Western Cape hotels. Our journey started ten years ago when we opened our doors at The Cellars-Hohenhort Hotel in Constantia, Cape Town. Shortly after that, we branched out to The Plettenberg Hotel in Plettenberg Bay and now also at Auberge Burgundy Boutique Hotel in Hermanus.
Restaurant
Inspired by the culinary lifestyle of the Mediterranean, the focus at Frances is on offering fresh, artisanal produce sourced from the local region. We keep our menu simple with the emphasis of each dish on the quality of the ingredients used. We strive to use organic, farm fresh produce from the surrounding region and support our local artisans as much as possible. Our breads are freshly baked, our cheeses are from Klein River (an award winning farm nearby), our eggs are free range and even some of our crockery is from a potter in Kleinmond.

Rooms
Middle Room
Slightly smaller than the standard bedrooms, situated on the first floor in the main house. En-suite bathroom with shower and Queen Bed. No balcony, but has lovely mountain views and looks over Hermanus town.
Standard Room
The 5 rooms, numbers 1-5, walk out onto the garden, while the other 5, numbers 6-10 are situated on the first floor. These 5 rooms all have balconies with garden views. The standard bedrooms all have Âľ twin beds and can be made up as a king on request. Rooms are with shower only.
Pool Room
Rooms 14-16 are situated around the pool and only have views of the pool area. The standard bedrooms all have Âľ twin beds. Rooms are with shower only.
Suite
These 2 rooms are situated in the main house with Âľ twin beds, en-suite bathrooms with showers, full lounge suite, balconies and view over Walker Bay.
Poolside Suite
This suite is situated at the pool area and on Harbour Road, with our bistro Frances below. It is our only self-catering unit and consists of Âľ twin beds, en-suite bathroom with shower and bath, separate lounge with a wood-burning fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and stunning sea view from living room balcony.
Penthouse Suite 1
Situated on the second storey of the main house. This unit consists of 1 bedroom (king size bed) opening onto a balcony with an en-suite bathroom and a separate living room, with wood-burning fireplace. Sea views from living room and bedroom. Inter-leading with Penthouse Suite 2.
Penthouse Suite 2
Situated on the second storey of the main house, this unit consists of 2 bedrooms (1 room with twin Âľ beds and 1 room with queen size bed) and 1 bathroom, a separate living and dining room with wood-burning fireplace and balcony. Inter-leading with Penthouse 1. Views over Walker Bay and Hermanus town from the balcony.
