Overview

Agama Tented Camp, 20km north of Garies, is a bush camp situated on 8000ha of prime Namaqualand soil and skilfully hidden in a secluded kloof. Here you can get closer to nature and discover the haunting beauty of Namaqualand by staying in a tent. In a good flower season the veld around your tent is carpeted with flowers in breathtaking hues.

Seven tents are raised 1.5m above the ground on wooden stilts. Each tent has its own private rustic bathroom with hot-water shower, basin and toilet. Please note that during cold winter evenings the bathrooms can get quite breezy. There is about a 50 – 100 meter walk to the tents from the parking area but the friendly staff will make sure your luggage gets carried to your tent.

Agama boasts a traditional boma made out of local bushes, where visitors can enjoy drinks before a delicious farm-cooked dinner and experience the tranquility which the Namaqualand nights offer.

Please note: Agama Tented Camp does not have any electricity and make use of lanterns for lighting in the tents. You can however charge your camera and cell phones in the entertainment area where they make use of solar power.
