This month, the floodwaters of Victoria Falls are at their most impressive and form the largest curtain of falling water in the world, with 20,000 cubic metres of water a minute plunging over 100 metres into the gorge below. April and May are the verdant ‘green season’ months in Zambia as the land dries out after the summer rains and the camps re-open. Wild Dog are regularly being sighted in the South Luangwa, as reported by both Robin Pope Safaris and The Bushcamp Company and the light at this time of the year makes for magical wildlife photography. The start of the safari season is a great time to visit and there are bargains to be had for those who can make a quick getaway in the next few weeks. |
