South Luangwa National Park, Zambia
This South Luangwa Safari with Bushcamp Company in Zambia offers the best of both worlds: classic game drives from Mfuwe Lodge and immersive bush experiences in South Luangwa’s intimate camps. Begin with a night at Mfuwe Lodge, then spend six nights split between two of the Bushcamps, where expert guides lead both walking safaris and game drives. You can choose to stay longer in fewer camps for a deeper experience, or move between three camps for more variety.
You arrive at Mfuwe Airport where you are met and transferred to Mfuwe Lodge for 1 night. From here you are transferred to Bilimungwe Bushcamp or Chamilandu Camp or for 3 nights. Then onto Chindeni for 3 nights before transferring back to Mfuwe. If you would like a more varied ‘on the move’ safari, you could also opt for having 2 nights at 3 different camps for the same price.
The focus in the Bushcamps is on mixing game drives, often in the afternoon, with walking safaris, usually in the morning — a chance to track wildlife on foot and discover the small details that vehicles often miss.
This South Luangwa safari is perfect as a stand-alone journey or combines well with the Lower Zambezi National Park or Victoria Falls. It balances comfort, adventure, and authenticity. Park fees are fully included.
If you come at the start or end of the safari season you will stay at Bilimungwe and Kapamba Camp, making the safari possible from April through December. These are the only Bushcamp Company camps which open in April and stay open later into December due to their away from main river locations. (Meaning that they don’t get so water-logged in the summer rainy season).
Note if you want, you can add a 2nd or 3rd night at Mfuwe to focus on more on game drives with less time in the bush camps. Contact us for a quote.
