Garonga Safari Camp in the Makalali Private Game Reserve is one of the more romantic game lodges in the greater Kruger Park. A North African ambience of natural fluid spaces pervades the Camp – the 6 rooms have tented ceilings, indoor and outdoor showers, rough plastered walls and billowing drapes. Enjoy the ‘bath with a view’ for a unique romantic and adventurous experience. The Hambleden Suite provides unparalleled luxurious accommodation. The hand-carved, ebony four-poster bed has a headboard of Indonesian reed panels, is covered in Senegalese linen and the effect is completed with expansive muslin drapes.
Garonga Safari Camp places less emphasis on classic game viewing than other lodges, preferring to offer a more intimate and holistic wildlife encounter. 'A safari for the soul’, in their words. Luxury Tent
The accommodation at Garonga Safari Camp comprises of six en-suite luxury tents ideally positioned in this exquisite safari landscape. Each of the six en-suite luxury tents is sculpted out of rough-plastered walls and overarching canvas tents. The tents overlook a dry riverbed, and have a wooden deck complete with hammock that commands spectacular views. The rooms are light, airy and spacious with large, draped beds and indoor/outdoor showers.
