East African Exploration to Kenya & Tanzania

Overview
This safari is a well rounded 12 night overland tour crossing the border between Kenya and Tanzania. The tour generally follows the path of the Great Migration. This is a magnificent annual event where close to two million blue wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of Thompson's gazelle move between the Serengeti National Park and the Masai Mara National Reserve.
Kenya is arguably the classic safari destination in Africa. An image evoked by unforgettable film scores, powerful novels and wildlife documentaries: from the adventure, scenery and romance of Out of Africa to the drama of the Big Cat Diaries. Indeed there is nowhere to compare with a Kenya luxury safari for its diversity of landscapes, eco-systems and wildlife.
But Tanzania is also a breath-taking safari destination. Over 25% of Tanzania is either a game reserve, national park or game management area. And Tanzania safari offers abundant wildlife in world famous locations such as the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti.
So in this East African Exploration, you don't have to choose between them. It combines interesting cultures, beautiful landscapes and an excellent opportunity for spotting the 'Big Five' game animals. And it is a fantastic option for those looking for something that won't break the bank. But you don't want to compromise on the game-viewing either. Of course it is very attractive for people wanting to see the Annual Migration on a budget. And you avoid lots of jumping on and off planes too.
East African Safari Exploration tour - Private or Scheduled basis?
Our price shows the private tour for 2 people using Serena Lodges.
You can reduce the price by asking for a scheduled tour. Similarly the cost of a private tour decreases so that a private tour for 4 people will be very similar in price to a scheduled tour!
The scheduled option, which departs every Sunday, is perfect for both the budget-conscious and also for solo travellers, as the single supplement is not that much. However many people prefer to travel on a private basis. Though the private safari option can depart on any day, we recommend trying to stick to the Sunday departure as then allocations are held at the safari lodges. Which means that your safari can be confirmed quickly and easily.
Notes
- If you are a party of four people, the private tour is actually a little CHEAPER than the scheduled tour. So we always recommend a private tour.
- The price for the Festive Season is the same price as the Peak Season (20 June to Oct).
