The Residence is surrounded by tropical gardens with one kilometre of magical powdery white sandy beach in front. This part of Mauritius is known for its excellent diving and fishing.

Accommodation

The 163 rooms and suites exude an air of elegance with an understated colonial décor with plantation shutters on the windows and a subtle palette of white, cream and beige.

There’s a choice of 135 spacious Garden View, Ocean View and Ocean Front rooms (54-58m²). Each air-conditioned room offers a comfortable sitting area as well as marble/wood bathroom with separate bath and shower. Facilities include a ceiling fan, safe, telephone, mini bar, internet access, DVD player and satellite TV. A butler is assigned to each room to help with unpacking, laundry requirements, drinks etc.

The 28 suites vary in size and have their own terrace or balcony. The Garden View Junior Suites (86m²) have their own sitting area whilst the Garden View Senior suites (106m²) have a separate sitting room with TV & DVD/CD player. The Colonial suites (either Ocean View or Ocean Front ) are decorated in a refined colonial style with sumptuous four poster bed, separate sitting room with computer (complimentary internet access), TV & DVD/CD player. Many of the rooms and suites can take an extra child (or two children in the case of some of the suites) and suites can interconnect with an adjacent room to provide a two bedroom family suite.

Facilities at The Residence

The Residence has a superb range of facilities including a choice of swimming pools, sauna, steam room, gym and Kids Club. The Sanctuary Spa is a 600 m² temple of relaxation with nine treatment rooms. The décor, in contrast to the colonial ambience of the rest of The Residence, takes its inspiration from Zen philosophy with a calm restful aura.

The Planters Kids Club is a big hit with kids (from 3 to 12 years) and parents alike. It’s located in a 400m² plantation-style house with surrounding gardens just metres from the beach. Fully trained staff lead a programme of events ranging from treasure hunts, snorkeling classes, sports competitions, picnics, walks, glass-bottomed boat tours, body painting, pony rides and lots more. It also offers evening entertainment so that parents can enjoy a romantic dinner alone.

Dining

You have a choice between the romantic Main restaurant or the Creole-style Plantation beach restaurant specialising in the freshest seafood and creole dishes as well as live Sega dancing performances several times a week. For lunch, you can also opt for the Verandah restaurant at the pool. The bar, with its sumptuous sofas and ambient lighting is ideal for a late breakfast, snacks or evening cocktails.
