Milandi’s Review of Mhondoro Lodge

Mhondoro Lodge was not what I was expecting but it is a great lodge and it gets a definite thumbs up from me. It is a great lodge for families with many play areas.

The lodge is well decorated and you can tell money is no object. It is owned by a Dutch guy and he is doing great things for conservation in the reserve with a number of great environmental projects that the lodge is supporting.

It’s a well-managed lodge with a young, vibrant team. It was quite large, and as it is so popular, it was much busier than the intmate Camp Ndlovu. But it was a nice, vibey kind of busy-ness. So I would say it is a definite yes for families, but I will think twice if you are a honeymoon couple. There are other, more intimate lodges in the Welgevonden…

It has a very impressive 3-bedroom Luxury Villa which is perfect for multi-generational family. And an impressive, state-of-the-art Hide, as well as a Boma for alfresco dining.
