Bushtracks Express Steam Train
₤ 155 (Pps)
Dinner Excursion from Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)
The Bushtracks Express offers a magical and romantic dinner as it runs along the track from the historic Victoria Falls Bridge. This is a luxurious steam train harmoniously paired with modern air-conditioned comfort and cuisine.
You are collected in the late afternoon for a 15 minute road transfer to the railway station. (There’s a safety talk from the guide en route.) On arrival at the station, you enjoy seeing the train ‘in steam’ which makes for a wonderful photographic opportunity. The train departs to the iconic Victoria Falls bridge to enjoy views of the Victoria Falls at sunset.
The Bushtracks Express consists of three carriages lovingly restored to their former glory by Rohan Vos of Rovos Rail. There’s a club car, dining car and observation car. Step back into a gentler time when life moved to the slow beat of the steam locomotive, with the freedom to move around the carriages. There will be a variety of drinks and a five course dinner prepared by the Victoria Falls Hotel. The dinner continues as you return to Victoria Falls during this unique safari. You are transferred back to your hotel to arrive by 9pm in winter (April to October) and 9.30pm in summer (November to March).
The Bushtracks Express is one of two luxury steam trains which depart from Victoria Falls on different days. The other one is the Royal Livingstone which departs from the Zambia side.
This dinner train runs on Tuesdays and Fridays. It departs from Victoria Falls station. The excursion includes return transfers from your hotel to the train, a five course dinner and a selection of drinks. Wines, beers and soft drink are included in the price and there is a cash bar available for spirits. The dress code is smart casual. Collection time depends on the season but ranges from 4.30 to 5pm.
You can enjoy this train if you are staying on the Zambian side. But you have to allow a little longer for the transfer. Contact us for a quote.
