- Fundu Lagoon has a remote and beautiful beach on Pemba Island

Fundu Lagoon lies on Pemba Island, the much quieter sister island of Zanzibar to the north. This rather romantic lodge is situated on a remote and beautiful beach on the south western side of Pemba Island and is only accessible by boat (45 minutes). Fundu Lagoon has a distinct Robinson Crusoe air about it and is the epitome of “bare foot paradise” with its remote and not as accessible as other lodges on Zanzibar. Here you can relax and unwind in casual, yet elegant surroundings.
Fundu Lagoon is tucked into the lush tropical vegetation of Pemba Island and has 18 rooms ranging from hillside & beachfront rooms to suites and superior suites. All rooms are ensuite and have amazing views, especially the ones on the hillside. All canvas-walled rooms feature makuti (thatch) roofs, raised wooden decks, indoor and outdoor seating areas. Rooms are equipped with mosquito nets and ceiling fans. The suites have a private sundeck and plunge pool. Superior suites have the added luxury of a private chill out area, larger plunge pool, stone-walled bathroom and a queen sized bed.

Fundu Lagoon also offers a complimentary visit to the local village (where their staff live) which is a friendly and enjoyable experience.
