How would you rate your holiday with Cedarberg, overall? Excellent
Comments about Cedarberg: Very helpful and well organised with lots of suggestions on places to go and to stay.
Comments about places stayed: Hotel des Mille Collines (is is still by Kempinski – I read somewhere it wasn’t any longer but still some of their things in the rooms). Ultra clean and tidy but rather dated. Very helpful staff. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge. Very convenient for the park. Rooms are not brilliant and the bathroom is v very dark – especially when the lights blow. Shower is amusing but not very good. Food excellent for a buffet. Arusha Coffee Lodge. Beautiful in every way. Food excellent. All very sophisticated. Not really a lodge, more a hotel but we could have stayed there longer. Plantation Lodge. Likewise more a hotel. Beautiful grounds, nice rooms and good food. Central and Northern Wilderness Camps. Exactly what you would expect of a relatively basic tented camp. Takes the environment to extremes as the lights are so low powered you can hardly see. Nice food and friendly staff, if all a bit processed. Kiting Lodge. Again very friendly and reasonable food but perhaps a little disappointing given the overall cost of the holiday. Describing the rooms as ’boutique’ rather dresses them up somewhat.
What did you most enjoy? Anything you’d do differently? Gorillas. The reason we went. Arusha Coffee Lodge. Friendliness all round but especially in Rwanda. Avoid the places the Americans stay. Tipping seems to have gone wild.
How likely is that you would recommend us? 10 – Extremely likely
