Detailed description of goods and/or services
Cedarberg African Travel is a specialist tour operators for Africa. Please read the payment conditions and conditions of use on our website carefully. They will form part of your agreement with Cedarberg African Travel cc of South Africa.Cedarberg African Travel offers travel arrangements to Southern Africa, East Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands of Madagascar, Mauritius and the Seychelles.Cedarberg African Travel does not levy any charges if you pay for your holiday by credit card as all merchant fees are carried by us. The fees you will be responsible for are those applicable as charged by your bank and may include currency conversion, credit card and/or issuing bank conversion as well as admin fees. Please note that should you have been quoted in foreign currency and wish to settle payment by means of a credit card, your quotation will be converted to South African Rand just prior to the transaction being processed due to foreign exchange regulations by the South African Reserve Bank. The rate of exchange on the day that the transaction is processed will be used to determine the equivalent Rand amount with any resulting foreign exchange differences or bank charges being for the client's account. The South African Reserve Bank prohibits South African companies from taking foreign credit card payments and keeping the payment in foreign currency. The payment has to be converted to South African Rand before it is credited to the recipient. If payment is not done within 48 hours of receiving the invoice in ZAR Rands then a new invoice will be compiled with the updated rate of exchange on the new date of payment.
Booking confirmation in two currencies
Sometimes our confirmation will show two currencies such as South African Rands AND US Dollars (but occasionally Euros or Mauritian Rupees). We invoice you in the same currency as our suppliers' invoice us. So if you are travelling to South Africa and Botswana for example, there may be separate South African Rand invoice for the SA part and a US Dollar invoice for the Botswana arrangements. Any third currency is converted into US dollars. Why do we do this? Basically it invariably saves you money. If we convert everything into one currency, we have to allow a cushion for possible currency fluctuations which means you would pay more overall. But by invoicing in only two currencies, the number of currency conversions to be done is reduced and you save on bank charges. So it is the best of both worlds. Please note that the total cost of this holiday would be the combined sum of the South African Rand portion AND the US Dollar payment.
Credit Cards or Bank Transfers
Clients are welcome to settle payment by credit card or by bank transfer. In the case of a bank transfer the amount will be converted by your bank on presentation of our invoice. It is the client's responsibility to inform and instruct their bank that the net invoice amount must equal the funds clearing into our Cedarberg Travel bank account and that ALL bank charges are for your account. However the bank's exchange rate is often more beneficial that the credit card company so that it can be less expensive to pay with bank transfer than by credit card.
