Overview
The Grand Tour of South Africa departs every Monday from Johannesburg. This scheduled tour is aimed at the first time visitor to South Africa. It is ideal for those who are keen to have a good value tour but who don’t wish to drive.
It visits many of the major highlights of the country. Starting with the Blyde River Canyon, then heading into the Kruger on safari. Then you travel down through the scenic Kingdom of Swaziland and into KwaZulu Natal. Here you learn a little of the Zulu culture. Enjoy a safari in the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi park. And experience the wetlands of the Isimangaliso Reserve with its hippos and crocs. Next you take a tour of Durban with its golden beaches and spice markets before flying to Port Elizabeth.
The tour continues along the Garden Route taking in Plettenberg Bay, Knysna and then over the stunning Outeniqua mountains to the Little Karoo. You then head to the mother city, Cape Town, where you enjoy some varied touring along the picturesque Cape Peninsula, the city highlights and the Winelands.
Practicalities
Given the early start on Monday morning, most people will need to fly into South Africa on Sunday and stay overnight in Johannesburg. We can arrange a hotel, transfer and even some touring on that day.
